I want to tell you about the roadtrip I took last weekend!

Two of my closest friends and I decided to do something a little different this year on Mother’s Day. No brunch reservations. No flowers. Instead, we packed up and drove 2 hours north to a trail system called Trail Hub in Uxbridge, Ontario to go mountain biking.

3 moms. 6 kids at home with the dads. 12 hours away from it all.

What we found felt like a little slice of paradise tucked inside a conservation forest. 

The biking + hiking trails were some of the most beautiful I've ever ridden.

We were welcomed with open arms by the mechanic in the bike shop before we even clicked into our pedals. We explored the trails for over 3.5 hours (you can also hike the trails!). And we returned to the restaurant with hungry bellies!

We then sat down to a three-course Mother's Day menu: duck wings, crispy Brussels sprouts, beef stroganoff, and chocolate cake. And some drinks! 

We all left with tired legs, a full heart, and memories I know the 3 of us will talk about for years.

So when I had the chance to sit down with the person behind Trail Hub's incredible growth, I said yes immediately!

Hey Visionary,

Something shifted in my business over the last 2 months. More clients. More podcast invites. More projects that land in my lap. More friendships. More opportunity. More everything.

And I can trace it back to one simple thing.

I started showing up in more rooms. 

Like, literally, physically, in-person showing up — 4 different events for entrepreneurs in 2 months to be exact. You could say I'm in my 'networking with really rad business owners' era and honestly it's been AMAZING.

You see,

Getting OUT gets you OUT of a rut.

I literally just made that up but I stand by it completely.

Because here's the thing about ruts in business… They're the quiet momentum killer of our businesses. You don't even notice you're in one until you've plateaued, stalled, hit that metaphorical wall… and suddenly wonder why everything feels so heavy.

But the fix could be simpler than you think.

Spoiler: it involves putting on real pants and leaving the house.

At one of these events, I had a moment that stopped me cold.

I'd been telling myself a story — quietly, consistently, on repeat "I don't have enough time or space to dream and be creative on behalf of my business."

I've said that out loud a million times. And because I keep saying it… I don't feel creative. I don't make space for it. The story becomes reality.

But what if I stopped waiting for the perfect season of white space and empty calendars… and instead wove creativity into the life I already have? While sipping coffee in the morning. While playing blocks with Freddie on the floor. While attending events looking at the scenery, eating the food, and chatting with attendees.

It’s all creativity! I just wasn’t seeing it that way.

Creativity doesn't need a dedicated 3-hour window. It needs permission.

Getting out of my house and into that room handed me the mirror I didn't know I needed. That's the magic of showing up.

Hey Visionary,

I'm still riding the high from our WAVE x Paris event last week. If you didn’t catch our recap IG Reel, click here to watch it.

If you were there, you already know how incredible the day was. If you weren't… well, grab a coffee because I have some things to share. 😊

First,

Not everything went according to plan, but we laughed it off in the moment… brought everyone in on the messy parts, and had FUN despite some inevitable glitches. Things like our crinkled swag bags, a mix up of speaker times, and never knowing how to get the volume right on our microphone (I think we need a dedicated A/V person one day!)

And you know what?

None of that REALLY mattered in the end! Mistakes will happen, and that’s ok!

Second,

Hyper local is the way to go.

We host these events in our respective small towns, and we try to include as MANY local touches as possible. Everything from the flowers you see (from the local shop), to the morning yoga class (hosted at the local studio), to the vendors we curated (many of them from within a 30 minute drive of the area). There is magic to bringing a group of locals together, who share a similar geographical location, and who want to see their local economy thrive.

Despite the fact that the town of this event was completely under construction, we felt proud to being some energy in an otherwise quiet season! 

Third, we had ROCKSTAR speakers and not only did they share their wisdom but they also spent the day with our attendees.

I’ve been to many events where the speakers come, do their thing, and leave right away. And that’s totally ok (time is precious!) but one thing I love about WAVE is that our speakers are among us the entire day. 

One of our speakers was Julie Daniluk.

Julie is one of those people who walks into a room and the energy just shifts. She's the creator of Meals That Heal, a bestselling author, a face you've probably seen on Breakfast Television or Marilyn Denis.Here are a few things she said that I genuinely haven't been able to stop thinking about that Julie shared:

She lost 55,000 organic Facebook followers overnight.

A hacker got into her account, impersonated her, started selling fake weight loss supplements, and then Meta shut her down. 

And what did she do? She doubled down on building her own platform. Her newsletter became her most important asset. 

(If you've heard me say this before… now you know I'm not the only one preaching it 😂)

She almost quit in 2020.

In 2019, she was standing on stages in front of 1,500 people. Crushing it. And then the pandemic hit and 95% of her income — her speaking revenue — evaporated overnight. She had a choice: close up shop, or dip into her RRSPs and pivot harder than she ever had in her life.

She pivoted. She built Thrive Hive — an online 5-pillar wellness community — from scratch. It now has 218 members and growing.

Hey Visionary,

I want to tell you a story that still kind of blows my mind when I say it out loud.

It starts with me, a couple years into running my own business, feeling like I needed to get into better rooms… and ends with me co-founding an event (@waveforwomen) that sells out every single time we run it.

But between those two things? A domino effect of connections so wild and serendipitous that I genuinely could not have planned it if I tried.

Here's how it went.

It's 2019. I'm growing my business, approaching six figures, and I attend a summit in Toronto. I got on the email list. The founder reaches out and offers me a free ticket to a conference in Los Angeles — I just have to get myself there.

Now let me be real with you for a second… I didn't know anyone was going. I didn't have a place to stay. So I did what any resourceful person does and posted in a Facebook group: "Hi, I just bought a ticket to the LA conference — does anyone have a bed for me?"

And a woman named Nicole said: "We don't know you, but you can have one of the cots."

(She is still in my life today and part of our WAVE community. Absolutely wild.)

I go to LA. I joined a coaching program for $1,500/month — which felt like A LOT at the time — and about 10 months later I landed a $70,000 contract that traces directly back to the relationships I built in that room.

One ticket. One yes. One cot in a stranger's Air BnB.

But wait — it gets better.

And the full-circle moment that really gets me?

Back in that original coaching program, I met Blake Fly — a TEDx speaker who works with youth. Years later, I posted in his community looking for a mindset speaker for my free Wednesday coaching calls (which I showed up for 150 weeks in a row, by the way). Blake referred me to his wife, Emily, who had just trained as a mindset coach.

Emily and I got on a Zoom call.

She is now my co-host and co-founder of WAVE.

One room in 2019. One free cot. One yes. And here we are, running events together, selling out venues, building something beyond what we ever imagined at the start!

Which is exactly why I want to invite you into a room like this. 🌊

This week on the podcast, I sat down with Dr. Shannon Holmes who is a vocal performance coach, PhD holder, and mother of 6 (yes, six!). 

I thought we were going to talk about voice. Microphones. Stage presence.

And we did (including me sharing how I’ve been told I am ‘too monotone’ and ‘sound like a valley-girl’... yes, truly.

… but this conversation went so much deeper than that.

Shannon got her master's degree in her early 40s. Her PhD at 50. And she did the whole PhD thing flying back and forth between Montreal and England with kids at home, her partner holding the fort.

Instead of saying to herself that it was ‘too late’ to make a change, and take a chance on herself… she said YES to taking the journey towards becoming the person she always knew she was meant to be.

The whole time she was talking, I kept thinking about how many of us have this thing… this calling… this quiet little dream that's been sitting with us for months or years or even decades… and we just keep nudging it further down the list because somewhere along the way we decided it was "too late."

Too late at 31. Too late at 40. Too late at 52.

I remember being offered a chance to start Mountain Biking at the age of 31. I literally told myself ‘it’s too late to learn this sport’ (hilarious, I know). And then ended up falling in love with the sport, training with some really talented riders, and standing on a podium after a 4 hour race.

"Too late" is something we invented.

I'll be honest — I'm nervous writing this one.

Not because the news is bad. Far from it.

But because some things feel so sacred that even when you know you want to share them, it takes a minute to find the right words.

So here it is: we're expecting another baby at the end of summer. 🤍

Freddy is blissfully clueless — as two-year-olds tend to be — and honestly, watching him be his chaotic little self while this massive change is quietly on the horizon is one of the most surreal, beautiful things I've ever experienced.

Why I waited 20 weeks to tell you

I've always danced back and forth on how much to share online. My thought leadership, my marketing brain, my adventures — that stuff flows pretty naturally. But the things that feel truly sacred? I tend to hold those a little closer first.

With both pregnancies, I felt this pull to process inward before bringing the world in. To connect with my baby, to sit with my husband in the knowing, to tell close people face to face — shoulder to shoulder — instead of in a caption.

There's something so intimate about a life update shared in person. I didn't want to miss that.

And honestly? There was a business layer to it too. As an entrepreneur, I had this quiet fear: will this change how people see me? Will clients hesitate?

I had that same fear with Freddy. And what I actually experienced was the opposite — clients were wonderful, supportive, and it didn't change their decision to work with me in the way I'd feared. But I want to name that fear out loud, because I think a lot of entrepreneur mamas carry it and never say it. It's real. And it's okay to feel it.

The conception story I have to share

Here's the part that still makes me shake my head a little.

The month we conceived? I was travelling. I was away during what would have been the key days. I genuinely thought about rearranging my trip — my husband told me to just go and enjoy it, that we'd try again next month.

So I let go.

And somehow… that was the month.

I think the common thread between both my pregnancies is that when I stopped trying to control everything — when I genuinely surrendered — that's when it happened. My very natural tendency to analyze, manage, and optimize every detail? Not helpful here. The universe had a different timeline, and it was better than the one I was trying to force.

I want to say to anyone going through that journey right now: I know it is impossible to see that in the moment. When month after month brings disappointment, the reassurances people offer — as well-meaning as they are — just don't land. You can't hear them. And that's okay.

I remember searching YouTube for videos of women talking about miscarriage at midnight, just asking myself is this normal? I was so grateful to the strangers on the internet who shared their stories. And to my friends who had been there and could just… sit with me in it. Not fix it. Just be there.

That's exactly why I share pieces of this journey online. Because if someone in the middle of that pain reads this and feels a little less alone — that matters more to me than keeping it tidy.

What this season is asking of me

I'll be honest — I haven't fully sunk into this pregnancy yet the way I did with Freddy. The first time around, I had space. I could check the app every week, think about what fruit he was, nap when I felt like it. This time, life is full and fast and there's a toddler who needs me in the mix.

So my intention for these last four months is to carve out five to ten minutes in the morning — just to slow down, connect with this baby, and actually be in this season rather than just move through it.

One of the things I keep coming back to is the question I ask myself constantly: what is this season asking of us?

Some weeks the answer is health — slow down, protect your energy. Some weeks it's peace — outsource more, say no to things. And when the baby arrives, maybe it's quiet family time. No packed schedules. Just bopping around together, figuring it out.

My values genuinely shift week to week, and I've stopped being embarrassed by that. Flexibility isn't inconsistency. It's wisdom.

On the postpartum chapter ahead

The thing I learned most from Freddy's postpartum period? Protect the rituals that make you you — and build them in before baby arrives so they're already part of the rhythm.

For me, that was movement. And every Thursday night: mountain bike club.

I sat down with my husband and said, "Can Thursday nights be mine?" And even on the nights I was too tired to actually ride, I'd go sit at Starbucks for an hour, drink a tea, and just be alone with my thoughts.

That two-hour block once a week made an enormous difference.

I also think we all have a running list of five to ten micro-moments of joy — things that don't cost much, don't require travel, and just bring us back to wholeness. Walking the dog. Cooking a good meal. Driving to the coffee shop and buying yourself an espresso. Small things that are actually everything.

The goal is to know what's on your list before you're deep in the fog of postpartum — because in that fog, you can genuinely forget who you were before.

So I'll be writing mine down. And being even more intentional about it this time around.

Hey Visionary,

I want to talk about something I've been sitting with after 10 years of coaching small business owners…

Because I see this pattern constantly, and it’s detrimental to the success of business owners in year 1 to year 3.

Some of you are dreaming SO big — and I mean that in the best way, truly — but you’re so far out in the future that you have completely lost touch with what you actually need to DO today.

And look, I get it. Visionary is literally my whole brand. 🙋‍♀️

The Visionary Brand (Visionary Life & Visionary Method) was built on imagining your life with limitless potential. The word itself means tapping into a greater vision than where you are right now. So I am the LAST person who's going to tell you to stop dreaming.

But here's where I've watched so many entrepreneurs get stuck…

They're ‘holding the vision’ without consistently planting the seeds. 🌱

Let me give you a real example.

Say you've never had a paid speaking gig in your life, and you have this beautiful, bold vision of landing a $100,000 keynote. I love that for you. I genuinely do.

But your mission right now? It needs to be getting your FIRST speaking gig — even if it's for $1. Even if it's just finishing your speaker one-pager this week.

That's not small thinking. That's mission-driven, outcome-based thinking.

There's a massive difference between being connected to your vision and having practical, outcome-based missions that actually move you toward it… and I think this is exactly where a lot of entrepreneurs miss the mark.

I've seen people spend thousands — and I mean thousands — booking sessions to uncover their money blocks, working with energy practitioners who help them "clear" whatever's keeping them from their next income level.

Maybe you're currently making $200K a year and a practitioner tells you that you have the energetics to clear $4 million. Cool! Hold that as the vision!

But what are you actually DOING to scale your impact? To deliver more value? To use the same 168 hours everyone gets each week to output more?

That all comes back to having a real, grounded, outcome-based mission of SMALL, incremental actions.

So here's the question I coach all of my clients through:

What is your outcome-based mission for the next 90 days? The next 6 months? The next 12?

Not your dream. Not your vision board. Your mission.

I know this is a little left-brain of me but I don't think it serves ANY business owner to stay permanently in the clouds when there's real, exciting work to be done on the ground.

Dream big. Always.

But then come back down, look at this week, and ask yourself: what's the ONE outcome-based mission I can commit to right now?

I want to tell you about someone I met recently who immediately became a fast friend.

You know those times where you meet someone new (sometimes on a quick Zoom call!) and instantly you think…

“Where has this person been my whole life?”

That was me after my podcast swap with Laura Sinclair — founder of This Mother Means Business! More on the episode shortly…

But before I dive into it, I want to share a quick story that all the mamas and parents might relate to…

I’ll start by saying, I have intentionally chosen incredible Business Mentors at every season of my entrepreneurial journey. 

Men and women that I look up to, learn from, and genuinely admire.  But sometimes I need to CHECK MYSELF against the advice I am taking + goals that I CURRENTLY have.

You see,

The past 2 years, I’ve often found myself trying to keep up with certain mentors in ways that just don't make sense for my life right now as a new mama. 

For example…

Committing to a daily Instagram Reels Strategy. Running evening calls 😴. Launching live programs on a quarterly basis. Saying yes to all the things. This is NOT my reality given my current lifestyle! 

I have to remember that when I listen to mentors who are in a completely different season of life than I am, I should take the advice with a grain of salt and run it through my own filter.

I've been in the ‘do it all’ season before. Pre-family Kelsey had a TOTALLY different bandwidth! I could work 7am to 8pm with a quick spin class break and that was all well & good. It served my business massively! 

But right now?

I'm in a protect-what-I've-built, simplify-with-systems-and-get-EVEN-better-results kind of era. And Laura Sinclair (this week's podcast guest) gave me the exact language I didn't know I needed to hear.

She calls it "whose lens are you looking through?"

Are you taking advice from someone whose life looks nothing like yours? Are you measuring your growth against entrepreneurs who don't have school drop-offs, sick days, and the invisible mental load that comes with motherhood?

Because through their lens, posting a thousand times a day might make total sense.

Through our lens? Some days that's just not possible (and that doesn't make us lazy, behind, or less ambitious). It makes us strategic. It makes us lean more on LEVERAGED marketing strategies (ahemmmmm…. Being FOUND on Google and ChatGPT!!!)

Laura built her entire brand around this idea — that you can be wildly ambitious AND be a devoted mother AND you don't have to blow up your life to do it. She went from running digital media for BMW, to helping build a multi-seven-figure coaching business, to buying a failing CrossFit gym for $32K cash and turning it around, to navigating a pandemic, to building a thriving online business from home.

The woman has done the reps.

Hey Visionary,

I'm writing this at 5:52 AM from the jungle in Belize.

We packed up our 2-year-old and decided to do something unconventional—first, hit a small beach town and now we’re at a remote resort deep in the jungle. No nearby towns. No quick coffee runs. If you need something here? Well, you’re an hour away from any town.

When we first arrived, I felt a bit of resistance. 

The lack of control over access to things. The inability to walk to a store. The unfamiliarity of it all.

But here's why I love leaning into this feeling…

New scenery challenges us. New environments push us. Change stretches us in the best possible way.

And honestly? Isn't that the POINT of life? 🤔

There's this part of me that absolutely loves getting on an airplane and not knowing what my bed will look like, what coffee I'll drink in the morning, or what adventure tomorrow will bring.

But there's also a part of me that hates it!

Because change is HARD, even when we know it's the BEST thing for us as humans who LOVE routine.

Here's why this also applies to all of you who are entrepreneurs or steering your own ship…

The same discomfort I'm feeling in the jungle? That's the exact feeling you get when you're about to level up in business.

When you're about to hire your first Virtual Assistant. When you're raising your prices. When you're finally putting yourself out there on Instagram. When you're pivoting your offer.

That uncomfortable, "I don't know if I can do this" feeling? 

That's growth calling on you.

Just like we might avoid ‘uncomfortable’ travel we also might be avoiding uncomfortable growth in business.

That might show up as…

• Not challenging ourselves to launch a new offer

• Not attending a local networking event or conference to meet new people

• Not building your personal brand because you worry about negative comments or judgement

And you know what happens when you stay comfortable for too long?

You plateau. Your creativity dulls. Your energy flatlines. Your business stays exactly where it is.

Being here in Belize reminded me that discomfort is actually a GIFT.

It opens your aperture to parts of life (and business) you miss when you're on autopilot.

It forces you to adapt, to think differently, to trust yourself in new situations.

It proves to you that you're capable of more than you think.

So, here’s a quick reflection for you,

What if the thing you’ve been avoiding—the uncomfortable next step—is exactly what you need to break through to your next level?

What if your comfort zone is quietly keeping you stuck?

Let’s chat about 2026 being THE YEAR for personal brand & visibility.

You’ve seen these words everywhere. 

You know you could do better in both areas.

But how? And why? And is it REALLY that important to your business?

Let me first dive into the TL’DR version…

The conversations I’ve been having with other entrepreneurs are all coming back to this ONE thing…

If you want to make more money in business, you need to get yourself (or your founder, or your product, or your service) MORE VISIBLE. 👀

It's that simple and that complicated at the same time 😅

Think about it... if nobody knows about the solution you offer, if nobody knows how to refer you because you're hiding in your home, you're probably not reaching your revenue goals. Period.

Visibility = Revenue. It's math.

😞 Here’s the sad reality about what I’m seeing right now…

The biz owners who have the MOST important products and services to share? You guys are the ones hiding the most. You are the exact people who need to step out and challenge yourself to be seen.

I know, I know... it's scary and vulnerable and there's a lot of deep work that comes with it. When you become more visible, a lot of old stuff bubbles up. 

Ex: When we were extra visible as teenagers and got made fun of, or when we first launched our business and Aunt Susie said "oh, good luck with your little side business" (yep, had that one!)... those moments don't just disappear 💭

That chatter lives in our heads when we go to post on Instagram or record a podcast episode.

But listen...

Visibility is EXTRA important right now because otherwise people literally cannot find you.

And the beautiful thing? Your visibility strategy doesn't have to look like everyone else's.

You get to choose:

• What you talk about (choose what gets air time, and what stays private!)

• Where you show up (ex: Google, Instagram, Networking Events)

• How you create content (batch create, voice notes, etc)

Want to blog every day instead of posting selfies on Instagram? Do it.

Prefer talking to the camera because selfies feel awkward? That works too.

Just find a way to get content in front of your dream audience in a way that feels authentic to YOU.

Real talk time:

Are you gonna piss some people off? Yep.

Are you going to get negative criticism? Absolutely.

Are you gonna feel like a fool sometimes? Totally.

But is this the cost of growth? Is this what it takes to step into your next level? Is this the price of showing the world who you truly are and what really matters to you?

Hey Visionary,

It’s mid January. I live in the Arctic, I mean… Canada. And I’ve noticed that these cold days have convinced my to stay inside, explore less, and feel slightly uninspired.

Anyone else?

But here’s the thing…

Your boring life is silently CRUSHING your motivation and your momentum. In life, and in your business.

I know that sounds harsh but hear me out…

I’m a member of a business mastermind and on a recent call I asked my mentor how she creates 4 podcast episodes per week. If you have ever produced a podcast, you know that ONE episode weekly is a lot… let along 4!

I was expecting tactical answers from her. Things like “here's my content calendar, here's my AI workflow, here's my batching strategy.”

Instead, she asked me: 

"Are you doing things that are exciting right now? Do you feel creative?"

And I realized: no. Not really.

To be VERY honest with you,

The last time I felt truly creative was during pregnancy and early maternity leave (2 years ago) when my brain was buzzing with ideas and I had white space to think, to dream, to connect dots. But lately? I've been operating with a rinse & repeat business that prioritizes systems & simplicity (which scales well, but doesn’t promote creativity at ALL lol).

My mentor said something that hit like a brick: "If your week looks the exact same—wake up, Zoom calls, dinner, bed, repeat—you often have nothing to talk about. If you were to imagine your life as a movie reel, would people be bored watching it? I have endless content because I’m very inspired & trying plenty of new things right now”. 

I had my answer.

I couldn’t fathom creating MORE podcast episodes because I’m not in my best creative flow right now. I am less inspired than usual (don’t worry, I have already put big plans in place to change that: travel, coffee shop days, learning a new sport – more on these soon!!!)

Here's what I've been noticing: if you're sitting in your basement office every day, skipping the bike ride with friends, not checking out that new yoga studio, telling yourself you'll just eat in again instead of trying the new restaurant—you probably don’t have your best creative spark. ⚡

Even the smallest detour can spark something. 

So here's my challenge to you: jot down ONE thing that's going to shake up your week this week. 

Maybe it's going to a new coffee shop. Maybe it's finally taking that pottery class. Maybe it's reaching out to someone you've been meaning to connect with. Maybe it's just going for a walk without your phone and letting your mind wander.

If you want to have cool things to say, you need to go do cool things. If you want to feel creative, you need to create space for creativity. If you want your business to feel exciting, you need to inject some excitement into your life.

I was clearing out my inbox yesterday (I had 450+ unread emails… oops!!) and stumbled on something that made me stop and think.

It was an email newsletter from someone I didn’t even remember subscribing to.

Let’s call her Sandy.

She was promoting a webinar (normal), the topic was good (normal), the page looked polished (normal), the photos of her were gorgeous (I had a feeling they were AI photos), and suddenly I had this thought…

WAIT, is Sandy even a real person?

This moment proved something that we’ve ALL been experiencing, whether consciously or not.

First, we’re in a trust recession. We have our guards up when buying from strangers on the internet.

Second, in that moment I realized that we no longer know who is REAL and who is PRETENDING (AI generated images are convincing!!)

In this economy, building trust at ALL touchpoints becomes your #1 competitive advantage.

People have been burned by sketchy online businesses, overpromising gurus, and now with AI making it SOOO easy to create content that sounds human but has zero soul behind it. Trust is truly at an all-time low.

Your customers and clients are coming to your business with their skepticism dial turned UP, and honestly I don’t blame them!

But here’s where this gets interesting (and something I’m kind of excited about😏)

The businesses that are going to thrive in 2026 aren’t the ones with the most complicated funnels, who are spending the MOST on Facebook Ads, or who have perfectly written email copy. They are the ones building REAL relationships.

The ones showing up authentically, shaking hands at events, having actual conversations, being present in masterminds and communities, podcasting with their own voice, and creating content that feels genuinely THEM!

This is what I want you to think about this week:

How are YOU building trust bridges between you and your clients?

▪️Are you showing up in ways that feel authentic and REAL?

▪️Are you creating moments where people can see the human behind the business?

▪️Are you prioritizing relationships over transactions?

Because you could create a thousand pieces of content in 4 minutes with AI and post them everywhere… but if none of it feels like YOU, none of it is going to build the kind of trust that actually converts and retains clients!

The trust recession is here and the antidote is being more YOU.

Growing up, Tim Hortons was a STAPLE in my diet. The Timbits for birthday parties, the sandwiches when I forgot my lunch for school, and the hot chocolate after Snowboarding all evening with my friend.

As an adult? I became a total coffee snob - $5 espressos and fancy scones all the way. (Toronto life, you know?😜)

But something shifted this Winter.

We've been taking Freddie to the ice rink to learn to skate and there's something extra special about grabbing a 10-pack of Timbits afterward. Freddie is obsessed with that little box!

Pure nostalgia, right?

That got me thinking about Tim Hortons as a BRAND and I went down a bit of a rabbit hole learning about how they became a BILLION dollar company (yes, with a B!).

I was listening to a podcast with their Chief Marketing Officer and she reminded me that whether our businesses are massive like Tim’s or we’re just starting out… there are a few key lessons we can learn.

They took their BEST-SELLING donut and made it even better.

The Apple Fritter has been a fan favorite forever of Tim Horton’s but instead of just leaving it alone, they asked their customers what would make it BETTER back in 2022.

The answer they got was more apples!

So they revamped the whole recipe and launched it with "40% more apple chunks!" and people went WILD for it.

Here's what's genius about this:

You don't always need something NEW in your business, sometimes you just need to make something good even BETTER (& then promote it to generate BUZZ!)

Tim Horton’s isn’t trying to reinvent their menu everyday. Sometimes they improve what is already working and their customers love them for it!

Now, I want you to think about YOUR business…

▪️What's already working?
▪️What do your people already love?
▪️How can you add ‘More Apples’ to one of your offers?

Instead of stressing about 47 new strategies for 2026, what if you just took your BIGGEST WIN from 2025 and asked:

"How can I make this even better for my people?"

Maybe it's:

• Adding more value to your signature offer

• Improving the customer experience in your program

• Going deeper on the content your audience already loves (& forgetting the rest!)

Sometimes the biggest growth comes from doing MORE of what's already working instead of chasing what's new and shiny.

Hey Visionary, 

Winter has officially landed here in Ontario, Canada where I live. ❄️

Suddenly it’s dark at 5pm, my mountain bike is basically in hibernation, and my brain has been doing mental gymnastics trying to keep me motivated. Ya feel me?

In the warmer months (aka GLORIOUS SUMMMMMER ☀️)  it feels easy to be inspired.I hop on my bike after work, hit a trail, get my endorphins going, and boom, I’m a happy, clear-thinking human again. 

But these colder months always have a different vibe.

Which has led me to really question the idea of inspiration. Is it possible in any season? Can I choose to be inspired despite no matter the forecast? Do I accept that Winter is just a low-vibe time of year?

Here’s what I landed on…

Inspiration isn’t seasonal… It's a decision.  A decision to make the best of everyday, and tap into the success habits you know are tried & true. I refuse to let an entire season pass me by where I’m not feeling into the magic of life.

So on Monday, I laced up and dragged myself back to my trail running club (after a year, btw). It inspired me.

On Thursday, I stopped overthinking and walked into a barre class I was low-key terrified to try. I met really cool women and danced to fun music. It inspired me.

On Friday, I met my friends for coffee with the kiddos, and then decorated for Christmas with Mariah Carey blaring the background. It inspired me. 

A week that I thought was going to be blahhhhhh, turned into an incredibly inspiring few days. 

And this was ALL from one tiny decision to simply show up & do the things that I KNOW for certain keep me inspired.

So, here’s your gentle nudge for the week:

If there’s something you want to try.. DO IT! Even if you’re nervous, even if you don’t know what you’re doing, even if your brain is giving you the whole dramatic storyline of ‘it’s winter and I’m just gonna be uninspired” 

Because your inspiration isn’t waiting for the right conditions, it’s waiting for you to decide!!

So here's what I've been mulling over lately...

We're all out here doing the most to get more eyeballs on our business, secretly hoping we'll wake up to a viral post one day, wishing we had those big budgets to produce the kind of ads that make people actually pay attention.

But the reality is most of us don’t actually need MORE attention right now. We need to focus on where the QUALITY attention actually is.

What we need is to answer this ONE question:

How are your dream clients influenced to make decisions?

I know it sounds almost too simple. But stick with me because this literally changed how I approach marketing.

Think about your last few purchases. Were you scrolling randomly and just decided to buy something? Probably not. You were influenced by SOMEONE or SOMETHING.

Maybe it was an influencer who convinced you to try grocery delivery. Maybe it was a recommendation from someone in your mastermind group or all your friends started going to the same fitness studio and suddenly you’re signing up for that free trial too. 

We’re influenced by:

• The people we trust and follow

• Recommendations from folks in the right rooms

• Word of mouth from people who’ve actually experienced the transformation

• What our close-knit community is doing

So, stop chasing algorithm-driven attention and start showing up where your dream clients are actually being influenced. (This is easy to understand, but hard to implement…. You can apply for 1:1 consulting with me if you need support →)

Where are they hearing about products and services like yours? Who are they listening to? What communities are they part of?

This week I caught myself daydreaming about a version of me I had to let-go of to make room for something bigger.

Let me paint the picture…

For 5 years I was the girl biking 🚴‍♀️ around Toronto with a backpack full of workout clothes, a half-eaten protein bar, and a brain constantly toggling between "what playlist am I using for spin tonight" and "okay but how do I fix this client's funnel before our call tomorrow?"

I had left corporate to start my own thing and it took time for the business to grow into something that could consistently pay my bills.

But with time, my marketing consulting work was finally gaining traction. I could feel the momentum building. But I was still teaching 4-7 fitness classes a week because that was my identity. The thing I said ‘I will never stop doing this’.

I loved it.

The energy, the community, the way it forced me to show up and move my body even when I didn't feel like it.

But when I added up the commuting, the prepping, the decompressing, the mental energy… It was costing me way more than an hour in the studio. And I knew I couldn’t hold onto this delicate balance forever, if I wanted to grow my consulting business.

I was spending 20 hours a week keeping an old identity alive…even though my new one was begging for space.

And I’ll be honest, letting go of that identity felt like breaking up with a version of myself I really loved. But the second I made the decision, everything shifted.

My business grew even more, the opportunities expanded, and the work I’m doing today wouldn’t exist if I’d stayed clinging to “fitness instructor Kelsey” out of habit.

Sometimes the hardest thing to let go of isn’t what’s bad, it’s the good, familiar, comfortable thing that’s quietly keeping you plateaued.

I’m finally coming up for air after what might have been the most magical WAVE event we’ve ever hosted.

Last week, 70 incredible women filled the Elora Mill with laughter, ideas, and way too many mocktails (if that’s even a thing). 

It still blows my mind that this all started two years ago with just ten women, a few coffees, and some gluten-free Twix bars at Little Lake Market in Puslinch Lake.

Fast forward to last week, we hosted a sold-out event with panels, breathwork, live music, and a VIP mastermind dinner that cracked open so many new ideas (and hearts💛)

Here’s the thing I keep coming back to 👇

Big things come from brave starts. 

We didn’t plan this to be “BIG” in the early days. We just wanted to create space for female entrepreneurs to connect.

And the throughline from that first small circle to this huge, beautiful event is that we kept showing up, even when ticket sales were slow, venues got double-booked, and we had no idea what we were doing. 

That’s your nudge this week: Start small, host the thing, gather your people. 

You don’t need to be an “event planner”, you just need to care.

The other day, I spent the day mountain biking with friends and it reminded me how much this sport mirrors entrepreneurship. 

When I first started riding about 4.5 years ago, I had NO IDEA what I was doing. One of my new friends (shoutout to Katie) invited me to join a trail ride, and after that first adventure, I was HOOKED. 

Fast-forward a few years later, I’ve raced, trained, traveled and learned a LOT about grit, mindset, and momentum. 

Here’s the biggest takeaway that hit me today:

If you love what you’re doing, you’ll keep SHOWING UP… even when it’s hard. 

On the trails, it’s those steep climbs, unexpected roots, and moments when everyone else seems faster that really test you. But if you can find JOY in the process and if you can remind yourself why you love it, you’ll keep pedalling. 

It’s the exact same thing in business. There are technical hiccups. There are seasons when motivation dips. There are days when you wonder if it’s worth it. 

But if you LOVE what you’re building and surround yourself with people who get it you’ll find your way through every obstacle.

So whether you’re trying a new sport, creating new types of content for your biz or simply trying something different cause you need growth… always remember it doesn’t have to be easy to be worth it.

I had a humbling moment this week.

I caught myself being a lazy marketer. The kind of marketer I literally coach my clients NOT to be.

Here’s what happened 👇

So, I’m the fractional CMO for a pretty big thought leader in the US, and we’ve been brainstorming her next lead magnet to help promote her upcoming book.

I suggested we do a classic ‘evergreen masterclass’.

When I presented the plan, she looked at me and said:

“this is boring and it’s not going to work”.

And honestly, she was right.

Because what worked in marketing 5 years ago doesn’t work anymore. Everyone & their mother is out there promoting ‘5 free tips for this’ and ‘3 ways to do that’ but that just isn’t compelling enough in today’s digital landscape.

So, we scrapped it and went back to the drawing board.

And then it hit me, lead magnets aren’t dead. They’re just worn out.

People don’t want more “stuff.” They want something that actually feels worth their time and something that solves a tiny but REAL problem and makes them think, “Dang, I needed this”

So, if you’ve been struggling to come up with your next freebie idea, here’s my advice:

Go back and scroll through your top-performing content. The stuff that got DMs, comments, saved posts.

Ask yourself, why did that resonate? And can you take it a layer deeper? How can you make it special & beyond a typical PDF or video file?

How can you make something that you’re EXCITED to share?

So lately I’ve been trying something new and it’s honestly been such a game-changer for my creativity.

These days my best thinking happens on solo drives, typically those 20-minute trips to the store or on a roadtrip to meet my friends for a Mountain Bike Date.

Instead of just listening to podcasts or zoning out, I’ve started using that time to record little five-minute voice notes. 

Some days, I cue up a podcast (a few of my go-tos are My First Million, The Nathan Barry Show or anything a little marketing-y) and wait for that spark. 💡

When it hits, I pause the episode and let the ideas flow. It feels like my brain is wiring new connections every time I do it.

This week’s voice note actually turned into a whole reflection about my new brand shoot. It wasn’t polished or refined, but some good thoughts came out!

And the bigger realization was this: 

You don’t have to wait for the “perfect time” to create content or record your thoughts. 

Some of my best ideas come when I’m just… LIVING LIFE. Driving. Walking. Thinking. Not sitting at my desk trying to come up with something. 

It’s been a good reminder that creativity doesn’t always need structure. Sometimes it just needs space.

If you ever find yourself feeling stuck, go on a solo drive or out for a walk, hit record on your phone and see what comes out.

I need to tell you something I've been sitting with for a while now and honestly it feels a little vulnerable to admit out loud but here goes...

It's about my business, where I'm headed in 2026, and this weird tension I've been feeling since becoming a mama.

For the longest time I thought I had to choose between two ‘seasons’:

• Season 1 was "say yes to everything and expand wildly" and 

• Season 2 was "go inward, stay quiet, and plant seeds in silence."

But here's what I'm realizing... I'm not actually in either of those seasons right now.

I'm somewhere in the middle and for a while that felt like I was doing something wrong, like I wasn't ambitious enough or intentional enough or something enough.

But plot twist: the middle might actually be exactly where I need to be.

Let me explain what I mean...

-

The huge growth seasons where you’re buzzing with energy & traveling the world in pursuit of growth 🌍 or the deep reflection seasons where you’re pulling back to rest and recharge.

But there’s this 3rd season no one talks about much: the steady middle.

▪️In this season you are deeply motivated to work on the right things (not all of the things), you are dialed in on your priorities & stay hyper focused on them, you say yes to high leverage opportunities and say a kind no to the rest, etc.

▪️In this season, the systems you’ve built carry your business forward with ease.

▪️In this season your income feels steady, and life feels full without burning yourself out trying to chase the next shiny thing.

There’s value in recognizing that this season is ok. Better than ok, actually. It’s awesome. And that’s where I am at.

Because if you’re always pushing for expansion, you miss the joy of maintenance. If you’re always pulling back, you miss the proof that your business can sustain itself.

When I first thought about QUITTING my job to go freelance (9 years ago), the list of things holding me back was… A MILE LONG!

First up was the money.  💰

I knew I needed a baseline income just to feel safe enough to take the leap. So what did I do? I pieced it together by teaching at multiple fitness studios, dabbling in a network marketing company, and even working as a personal assistant for a successful entrepreneur (she literally had me make documents to compare resorts in Mexico for her family vacation… this was clearly pre-chat-GPT 😆)

It wasn’t glamorous, but it gave me the peace of mind I needed to shoot my shot as running a business.

Then there was the fear of judgment.

I was CONVINCED that people were going to whisper behind my back “Who does she think she is, becoming a personal brand on Instagram?” and “Why is she inviting me to workshops and selling social media services now?”

When most of your friends aren’t entrepreneurs, it can feel suffocating to step out and do something different.

But maybe the toughest thing I faced was belief.

My confidence wavered daily. Truthfully, it still does sometimes 🙈. The only difference is, now I know it’s normal. Back then, I thought I was a bad business owner because I couldn't summon 24/7 belief in myself.

As you can see, there’s a LOT that can hold us back when we’re starting something new.

And on top of that, feeling ALONE made everything harder.

No office or coworkers, just me in my pajamas, googling things like “How to send an invoice?” and “Should I be charging HST?”

It wasn’t until I joined my first mastermind in Toronto that everything started to shift. I remember walking into an event called Superhero Coffee in Toronto and feeling like the “dumbest one there” but deep down, I knew this was the room I needed. 

And I was right, that ONE decision cracked open a whole new world. I met people who expanded my vision of what was possible. Slowly, I started to believe it was possible for me too.

Masterminds and community have been the catalyst for everything in my journey. They’re why I co-founded WAVE the Mastermind and started running events myself because I wanted to create the same kind of space that changed everything for me.

I just got back from keynote speaking for day two at the Resorts Ontario conference and wow…🙈

Less than 12 hours before I hit the stage, I was literally pacing my block in the dark, rehearsing my slides out loud. My neighbors must have wondered what the heck I was doing with a headlamp on & cue cards in my hand haha.

I had just finished a dry run with my husband earlier that day and honestly… It was rough. I felt discouraged, second-guessing everything, and wondering if I was even ready.

But here’s what hit me as I drove to the event the next morning: 

It’s not about flawless delivery, or having every slide timed perfectly. It’s about the energy you bring into the room. Because people don’t actually remember every stat or bullet point… they remember the energy you bring.

So instead of obsessing over “perfect delivery,” I chose to focus on authenticity, energy, and connection.

I showed up grounded, excited, and willing to just be myself, and that was enough. Actually, it was more than enough. The presentation flowed, the audience leaned in, and I walked away feeling proud (and honestly a little shocked that what felt so messy 12 hours earlier turned into one of my favorite talks of the year).

So… I’m doing something that’s making my stomach flip a little bit (in the best way possible).

After 7.5 years of pouring my heart into the Visionary Life Podcast, it’s time for change.

No, I’m not disappearing! But I AM rebranding the show! And I’m INCREDIBLY nervous to do it. But, it’s been a calling I cannot ignore.

I’ve been feeling some version of a 7 year itch (is that a thing? I swear I’ve heard about it with relationships lol…)

And I’ve been feeling like it’s been time to take the biggest risk I could without actually risking anything crazy. It’s JUST a rebrand, afterall.

New title,

New cover art,

New interview style.

But it won’t be ready until OCTOBER!

The new direction is built around a 3-word life philosophy that’s been following me everywhere.

It’s like my personal mantra, and I finally realized it could be SO MUCH MORE.

I’ve already recorded a few interviews under this new brand and the feedback has been great. Here’s a sneak peak at the new podcast art. Any guesses on what the new title is?

Let's talk about strength for a sec…

Not the kind you measure with dumbbells. The kind that shows up when life doesn’t go as planned, when you’re sitting in the middle of a mess and you have two choices: stay stuck or take the tiniest step forward.

Strength doesn’t always look powerful in the moment.

Sometimes it looks like sending one email when you’d rather hide. Making one phone call when you feel overwhelmed. Putting yourself out there even when you’re not 100% sure what you’re doing. Chunking a big laundry pile into the first step of throwing it in the wash.

And that’s the point.

Even if you don’t feel ready, you can still move forward.

The people you admire, the businesses you look up to, the stories you hear about overnight success. They all started with a single unglamorous step forward. 

That’s true strength.

Strength isn’t built by having the perfect plan.

Strength is built by showing up, and doing the thing you need to do to progress.

Here's something I've been thinking about for the better part of 10 years now… “momentum loves consistency way more than it loves perfection”.

In other words…

Keep showing up, imperfectly, and growth is inevitable!

This thought often crosses my mind in the final weeks of August, when 99.5% of the world seems to be ‘on vacation’ (as told by their email vacation responder).

I love me a good vacation, but sometimes I feel like I get OUT of momentum if I stop thinking about work and ‘turn my brain off’ for a week.

It’s almost easier for me to keep afloat and work a little bit, each day.

Your fall season of momentum and growth starts with what you do today, tomorrow, and the next day, because those tiny daily moves compound into something absolutely incredible when you trust the process! ✨

This whole "do a little bit each day" mindset is honestly the secret sauce behind why my business never hits those dreaded slow seasons...I'm always planting seeds, even when everyone else seems to have shut down their business brains!

The years I leaned into this consistent daily approach during the Summer (not in that burnout hustle way, but in that "just keep showing up with intention and joy while my energy is high" way)...those became some of my biggest breakthrough seasons ever, and I'm talking momentum that rolled straight into Fall.

These final days of Summer can be your secret advantage, where consistency sets you apart from the competition.

So here's what I'm genuinely curious about… have you been embracing that daily consistency this summer, or did you find yourself hitting pause and waiting for fall to "officially" start your momentum again?

Do you ever have one of those mornings where everything feels off…

• Your motivation’s gone, 

• Your first client cancels,

• And you’re staring at your to-do lists like… what even am I doing?

I’ve been there!

And honestly, those days never really go away.

The trick I’ve learned to move through these ‘BLAH’ days? 

Learn to BOUNCE BACK more quickly!

One thing that always helps me reset is something I call the R2R method (return to rituals). It’s simple but can be life-changing.

When I feel struck or directionless, I return to the little rituals that make me feel like ME (such as a morning walk with my son, a coffee that I savor, blasting my favorite song and dancing like no one’s watching, even if it’s just for two minutes.)

It’s these tiny acts that recharge my energy, lift my confidence, and get my brain back in the “let’s do this” mode.

You don’t need big, perfect rituals. Even micro-moments work wonders. And the key is to actually show up for yourself first. 

Your business, your goals and your clients, they’ll all benefit when your energy is back.

So, my question for you this week is : What are your rituals? The little things that make you feel alive and unstoppable?

Imagine that you could transform 52 different areas of your life this year without feeling without creating impossible to-do lists?

We're Making Growth Too Hard 💭 (life is busssssy these days!)

Here's the thing - we've all been conditioned to believe that biz growth has to look like this massive, complicated system with color-coded planners, 47 different habit trackers, and countless goals.

No wonder we burn out each week by Tuesday, lol.

Enter: The 52 Pick-Up Method ♠️

So here's what I've been doing instead, and honestly, it's been much easier

Every Sunday night I write down ONE WORD (maybe 2) on a sticky note and slap it right on my desk where I’ll see it everyday.

That's it. That's the whole system.

Last week my word was "SLEEP" 🛌 and for seven entire days, every decision I made got filtered through this simple question: "Will this help my sleep or hurt it?"

• Should I scroll IG until 10pm? Nope, sleep says no.

• Should I have that third cup of coffee at 4pm? Sleep says no.

For those seven days, I wasn't trying to also prepare meals and organize my closet and start building a new marketing funnel. Those things happened, but they weren’t my priority.

This week, my focus shifted to "slow down" and suddenly I found myself starting at the river for 10 minutes without temptation to grab my phone and snap a picture or text a friend.

Next week? It'll be something completely different. 

I'm still showing up for my business, my family, my health, all the important stuff - but I'm not putting pressure on myself to optimize EVERYTHING at once because that's just not sustainable and… it's exhausting 😴

Okay, we need to talk about something that’s not sexy. It’s not going to go viral on Instagram. It’s not the kind of thing that gets you DMs saying “omg that looks amazing.”

But it might be the thing that actually helps your business grow. 

The other morning, I had a quick convo with my favorite barista, He’s always ON IT. Efficient, organized and a total go-getter. As we were chatting, he casually mentioned:

We’re up 35% this summer compared to last year. 

Because he knows that, he’s planning for a busy August. He’s not guessing but he is leading like someone who knows his numbers. 

And it made me think: How many of us are just hoping things “pick up” this season?

We’re told to “stay in alignment” and “rest and receive” (and trust me, I love that energy) but sometimes your business doesn’t need another Pinterest quote. It needs a spreadsheet and needs you to pull back the curtain and track what’s actually happening.

Because when you know your numbers you can prepare better, you can stay motivated and you can grow with intention. This is the exact conversation we’re unpacking on this week’s Visionary Life podcast ( available wherever you love to listen).

Read the top sales books (my friend Jordan recommended The Little Red Book Of Selling to me many years ago, and I love it)

• Listen to podcasts about overcoming objections in sales
  

• Follow sales experts on LinkedIn and actually ENGAGE with their content

• Book a mentor session with a Sales Leader who's already crushing it

If your LACK OF NETWORK is holding you back, go FULL ON with networking at IRL events and virtual events in the next 30 days.

Reach out to the 5 most well-connected people you know & book a coffee date (yes, actually send those messages!)

• Join a new mastermind or community where your ideal clients are hanging out
  

• Buy a ticket to a local networking event (check Facebook, Eventbrite, Meetup, or ask local entrepreneurs if you don't know where to start)

• Start a podcast where you can interview local entrepreneurs & get to know them while building your authority

This is a "laser focus" approach and I’ve heard MANY top experts share (including Alex Hormozi when I attended his workshop in Vegas in June) that this is how they make consistent progress.

In my clients case,

She stopped trying to master Instagram, LinkedIn, email marketing, AND sales funnels all at once, and instead spent 30 days JUST focusing on getting better at sales conversations... and guess what?

She closed 3 new clients that month because she wasn't spreading herself SOOOO thin and feeling mega overwhelmed with her marketing

So, I have a question for you this week… 💭

What's the ONE thing that's holding YOUR business back right now? Where do YOU need to devote a little extra time and energy?

Whatever it is, I challenge you to go ALL IN on that ONE thing for the next 30 days and watch what happens when you stop trying to be mediocre at everything and start getting REALLY good at the thing that actually.

Let’s rewind to last week…

I was Googling a client’s name (because I needed some photos for her new website), and guess what popped up before her existing website?

Her Instagram.

Right there. Front and center ON GOOGLE. 

And YES, it IS official. Instagram content is NOW searchable by Google.

Which is WILD. Because for years we’ve been told ‘you have to write a BLOG to optimize your Search Engine Visibility”

But now, if you write a caption like: Here’s how I marinate pork tenderloin (and add the details), so that a Google search of ‘how to marinate pork tenderloin’ sends traffic to YOUR Instagram Content!

Read that twice. 

YOUR INSTAGRAM POST could be what shows up!!!

I don’t want to overhype it but…this is a BIG DEAL especially if social is where most of your energy goes.

It means what you’re already doing can drive long-term traffic, you just have to be intentional with your captions, your content and the word you use.

Yup, I laughed out loud. But also, I kinda thought it was PERFECT for me 😆

I love adventuring at heightd, I hate sitting still, and I’ve always been drawn to unconventional paths.

I sent a pitch to Megan out of the blue, after a colleague of mine was featured on her podcast.

I just had a GUT FEELING that my story would be perfect for her show.

So, I sent the email - even though it felt a little out of my comfort zone to ‘pitch’ myself.

But, it worked! The conversation was SO fun.

So here’s your reminder: Don’t sit back and wait. Reach out. Say the thing. Make the move. Pitch the podcast host!

The worst they say? No!

Because most of the best things in my life didn’t come from playing it safe. They came from following the ping and sending the email or DM to the person.

This week, I got a business lesson I didn’t see coming…

Let’s just say I found myself staring at a canceled meeting with someone I had paid $750 for one hour of their time.

Now, I wasn’t mad (because life happens),  but in that moment, I had this sinking feeling:

“Wait… did I just spend $750 on the wrong person?”

But here’s the thing,  I actually don’t regret it.

Because if I can tap into someone’s genius in one hour, if I can skip the rabbit hole of endless tabs, videos, and podcasts trying to figure it out alone… that is worth every penny.

You're probably wondering: who was this $750 call with? And did it ever actually happen?

The answer? Jenna Kutcher's former Chief Marketing Officer. 

I wanted her to share the inside scoop on how she stepped into this role, because I was about to do something similar for a smaller creator. 

And yes…  the call got rescheduled and absolutely blew my mind. 

(I'm actually recording an entire podcast episode about what I learned, so make sure you're subscribed to Visionary Life because this one's going to be good!)

But here's the real lesson from what could have felt like a "waste" of $750:

You don't have to figure everything out alone. 

That used to be my vibe, but these days time is a bit more scarce!

You're allowed to pay for fast answers. You're allowed to ask for help, to buy back your time, and to trust that someone else might already have the solution you've been spinning your wheels trying to find.

Sometimes the best investment isn't in another course or another "strategy" — it's in direct access to someone who's already walked the path you're trying to navigate.

A little life and business update from me today…

After taking a full 12 months of something I called ‘modified maternity leave’ (something I feel incredibly grateful I could do), I’ve found a lot of momentum in the past few months with new clients, new speaking opportunities, and new projects.

I haven’t just been ‘picking up where I left off’...

But actually rebuilding a business that aligns with my future goals of being present with my family, and running a business that I love.

It’s been a season of saying yes to things I used to say no to.Getting dressed, leaving the house, showing up to events, joining rooms filled with brilliant strangers who could become future collaborators or friends.

I’ve been investing in myself again, not because I had a clear goal or a mapped-out strategy, but because I felt ready. Ready to stretch. To learn. To grow.

And here’s the wild part, as soon as I started taking action and trusting that inner nudge…Dream clients appeared, I took trips to Las Vegas and to New York City to work with a company I never imagined I’d be partnering with, and I found myself surrounded by a brand new community of entrepreneurs who are inspiring me every day.

All of this to say,

It’s possible to plant seeds and build momentum anytime, when the time is right.

If you’re in a season like that too, or one that looks totally different….

I just want to say, it’s all valid.

I'm BACK from a whirlwind trip to NYC (quick 48 hours to support a brand new Marketing client) and I'm still buzzing with that Big City Energy.

What could have taken 4+ weeks of back-and-forth calls, we knocked out in 6.5 hours around one table. Gotta love the power of putting minds (& bodies) together for a full day of planning, strategizing and executing.

Speaking of putting minds together, I've been having a lot of behind the scenes convos with friends about marketing strategies that do NOT involve social media.

And here's what I keep hearing:

"I'm so tired of posting every day and seeing zero results..."

"I spend hours creating content and my engagement keeps dropping..."

Here's the thing that struck me during my NYC trip: 

My biggest clients didn't find me through Instagram. They found me through referrals, speaking engagements, email connections, masterminds, and good old-fashioned relationship building.

Not Instagram. Not TikTok. 

This got me thinking: 

What if we've been approaching marketing all wrong? What if the strategies that feel most exhausting are actually the least effective?

Here's what I've discovered after working with 400+ entrepreneurs:

The most successful ones aren't the ones with the biggest social media followings. They're the ones who've diversified their marketing.

They've mastered what I call "relationship-first marketing" - strategies that:

• Feel energizing instead of draining

• Generate higher-quality leads

• Create genuine connections (not just followers)

• Don't depend on algorithm changes

Last week in class, I shared a framework called my Daily 4 C’s™, and it resonated so much with the students, I just had to share it with you.

It’s simple, and a TOTAL game changer if you stick with it consistently. So, what is The Daily 4’Cs™?

• Congrats

• Check In

• Collab

• Connect

All you have to do is take 5 minutes each day to ask yourself these 4 questions & take quick action:

Who can I congratulate today? Shoot them a quick, genuine message. (Ex: "Congrats on the event! It looked amazing ")

• Who can I check in with? A client, a friend, anyone who might need a kind word or a little extra support.

• Who do I want to collaborate with? Start that convo you’ve been meaning to initiate and seek collabs because that is HOW we extend our own networks!
  
  Collabs = instant growth!

• What’s one new connection I want to make? Whether it’s introducing two amazing people in your network (this is a PERSONAL growth edge of mine!) or saying “hey” to someone new on Instagram, put yourself out there!

These micro-actions might seem small (actually, they ARE small!), but wow, they add up to massive business growth over time.

The Daily 4C's™ have led me to...

New friendships (I met one of my besties on Instagram!)

• New business partnerships (1 Facebook post led me to my co-founder of WAVE Mastermind)

• New ideas (1 check in often leads me into 30 minute conversations with inspiring people, that leave me with so much I want to conquer!)

• And sooooo many more awesome WINS in my business & personal life!

I’ve been deep in thought lately about what’s REALLY working in the world of selling services.

I’m talking coaching, consulting, freelancing, agencies, appointment based businesses, etc.… all the things!

I love breaking down the current landscape of marketing & selling, and getting into the nitty-gritty of what drives success. Not just in my own business, but in my clients' too. You could say I am a bit of a nerd that way.

Like the advice to create a $17/month offer and sell it to the masses. Sounds like a decent idea, right?

Or wrong?

IMO… Unless you’re Netflix or Costco, that’s an exhausting uphill climb (I’ve tried those low-ticket offers before, and even with an audience in the 1000’s it’s a grind).

But what’s the alternative?

How can you build a business as a service provider, make the money you want, and have more time and creative freedom?

I’m going out on a limb here, and saying… One-on-one work!

It’s where the magic happens. Clients come in, you dig deep, strategize, and take massive action to tackle what’s holding their business back. You’re leaping timelines with them. Skipping the guesswork to make real, impactful growth happen.

And what follows a major leap?

• Referrals

• 5-Star Reviews

• And Renewals.

All things that, you guessed it, continue to grow your business!

Of course, there are sooo many exceptions and every business has nuance. That’s why it’s best to think about how this might apply to you and your offers!

Maybe 1 of your product offerings is growing, and another is declining. In this case, it’s time to double down on the growing income stream to accelerate it.

Maybe you are trying so damn hard to sell a group program, and it’s just not filling. But you’re landing 1:1 clients like it’s no big deal! Maybe you spend the next 3 months adding value to your 1:1, increasing the price and building a scalable funnel for this service.

I think that 'the old ways' are crumbling (traditional education, 4o year career paths, even relationships—I mean, ChatGPT girlfriends are REAL and it freaks me out that people really have deep relationships with their chats... but I'll save that rant for another day!!!).

Feels like every morning there’s a new headline, a new app, or a new way of doing something we thought would never change.

Here’s a mind-blowing quote I heard recently while listening to the Emergency AI Debate on the Diary of a CEO podcast (highly recommend tuning in):

(I have a toxic trait of finding a silver lining in shitty situations… sorry if that bothers you!)

“AI won’t replace you; someone using AI will.”

Yikes, right?

But also... kinda true.

There are efficiencies in ALL of our jobs right now, and you should be the one to adopt them, before someone else does.

To advance my own knowledge and get up to speed, I just hired my own AI expert to help me analyze hundreds of hours of call transcripts to observe patterns and to see the full potential of what we can do once we have recorded material!

(Why, you might ask? Well, patterns tell stories, and stories shape success. Turns out, some of the conversations we’ve had (and forgotten about) are goldmines of insight.)

It’s surreal, really, to see how AI is reshaping work.

Sure, some tedious tasks might disappear, but it’s also opening doors for more creative thinking and strategy.

And if we can all lean into this shift instead of fighting it?

Well, that’s where big stuff can happen.

Mother’s Day weekend, I gave myself a gift: a mountain bike ride with friends. It’s usually my version of self-care, a reset, some fresh air, a chance to clear my head.But this time? 

I knew something was off.

My legs felt like bricks. My brain was foggy. I wasn’t even on my usual bike. And the voice in my head just kept nagging: “Why aren’t you enjoying this? This is YOUR day!”For 2.5 hours, I rode through it anyway, frustrated, tired, disconnected. I kept hoping for that magical moment where everything would click. Spoiler alert… it NEVER clicked!

But all was not lost…

(I have a toxic trait of finding a silver lining in shitty situations… sorry if that bothers you!)

You see, we meet ourselves in the struggles, not just the wins. Those moments where it feels like no one’s watching but you ‘do the thing’ anyway? That’s where confidence quietly grows, and resilience gets its reps in.

If you’re navigating one of life’s many plot twists right now (as an entrepreneur, or other!), here’s a little reminder of how these challenging times shape us into the visionary humans that we ALL are!

• They teach us to adapt (because when Plan A fails, we always find Plan B… or Plan Z).

• They build grit by proving to yourself you actually can do hard things.

• They remind us we’re stronger than we think (seriously, look at all you’ve overcome already).

This morning, I had a realization that 1 year ago today…

I was stepping out for my first paid speaking gig post-partum, and I sat in bed feeling so dang proud of myself.

I was barely back at work after giving birth to my first son, night feedings still in full swing, and trying to figure out if I could really swing a Toronto day trip when I had not left my baby for more than 2 hours before 😵‍💫.

I remember the feelings leading up to the day…

I was excited.

Ready for the adventure.

Craving this type of opportunity after a season of rest.

And…

When I got through the day, it felt like I had conquered Mount Everest. I was on top of the world.  I knew that I was the best version of myself as a mama🌷🙏

To every mama juggling it all, making bold moves, or just showing up where you can—I see you. You are celebrated. You are unstoppable.

I never thought I’d write an email gushing about cleaning products. But here we are. 

This past Christmas, my mother in law (hi Paula!) gave us a gift, a starter kit from this Canadian brand called Mint Cleaning.

At first, I didn’t think much of it. Cleaning supplies aren’t exactly the kind of thing that make you giddy, right?

But then I used them. Within one use, I was obsessed.

Naturally, I had to learn more about who was behind this magic and guess what? I got to chat with the founders on the podcast! Their story is so good.

Turns out, it was founded by two best friends, Robin and Monica, who met at a mom group in Ucluelet, BC!

They clicked instantly and shortly after started a local cleaning business that actually exploded overnight. I know I say no business is ever an “overnight success”, but in their case, it was legit.

What started as a service-based company eventually turned into the gorgeous line of natural cleaning products. They’ve built the whole thing while raising kids, managing life, and navigating all the wild ups and downs of entrepreneurship.

They’ve got the kind of hustle I love! One thing  they drove out to a hotel just to personally hand-deliver products to Jillian Harris’ brother-in-law. They go for it in the boldest, most grassroots way, and it’s honestly inspiring.

If you’ve ever thought “I could never pull that off,” I really want you to hear their story.

They didn’t have a perfect plan. They just started. They leaned on each other. And they stayed wildly committed to building something that feels good and does good.

There are days when I sit down at my computer and just write from a random stream of consciousness. Today is one of those days. 🎉

I got thinking about the BEGINNING of my entrepreneurial journey.

The days when NOBODY believed in me and I felt like a TOTAL ALIEN because I was leaving the safety of a corporate job to pursue an unknown path.

Those days are not lost of me, Subscriber First Name.

It was hard,
There were tears and doubts,
But I kept putting one foot in front of the other.

This is a journal entry of mine for those of you who are in the thick of your business beginnings…

FOR THE ENTREPRENEURS, SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS AND ONLINE CREATORS.

When you make the decision to start your own business, don’t expect it to be easy.

If it were easy, everyone would do it.

Expect it to take hard (& easy!) work,

Expect people to doubt you,

Expect to make (lots of) mistakes,

Expect your peers to question you,

Expect to iterate on your original idea,

Expect to add a little bit of ‘hustle’ to your routine (I know, that word rubs people the wrong way, but I said it anyways)

Expect to feel a little lonely,

Expect to hit wall and feel stuck,,

Expect to shift your health habits,

Expect to have inconsistent income (again, taboo topic, but your business will generate different amounts each month… aka, inconsistent)

Expect to worry that you ‘made the wrong’ choice,

Expect rejection.

But while you expect all of the above,

You should also expect magic.

Expect that your hard work will (one day) pay massive dividends,

Expect people to say ‘wow, you’ve built something really amazing…’ (my tax accountant just said this to me, and I almost dropped dead of joy)

Expect to keep make less mistakes,

Expect people to ask if they can ‘pick your brain’

Expect to double down on the things that are working,

Expect to hustle less (but it’s still required in a busy season!)

Expect to feel less lonely because you align with like minded peers,

Expect to take really good care of your health, and feel better and more energized each day,

Expect to see growth, and consistent patterns in your annual revenue,

Expect to be 100% certain you were ALWAYS meant for this path.

For all my entrepreneurs out there, I see you.

After nearly a decade building and growing my consulting business and the Visionary Life brand, there are a few key lessons that stand out.

Lessons that have not only shaped my business but also how I show up in life. 

These aren’t tips I picked up from a book or business course, they came from real experiences, tough decisions and unexpected ‘aha’ moments.

One of the biggest turning points (and part of 1 of the lessons I share in the episode) was when I stopped chasing trends and started making decisions based on my core values (something I have all of my 1:1 coaching clients begin with).

That’s when everything began to flow.

The right clients found me. I felt more energized and connected to my work. I no longer felt like I had to say YES to misaligned opportunities.

These values continue to guide how I show up, who I work with, and how I grow.

I’m sitting at Starbucks on this rainy day while Freddie naps, getting some work done, but I just went down (another) huge rabbit role learning the techniques to rank on search engines like ChatGPT.

Let me rewind…

The internet marketing game is changing FAST and it’s time to talk about how your business will be found in 2025 and beyond.

If you’ve taken my Everyday SEO™ course, you know my favorite five words have always been “I found you on Google.”

Well… scratch that, because life moves on, and now there’s a fresh set of letters rewriting the rules of the internet.

AI is here 😱, and it’s completely shaking up how people search for info and find YOU.

Here’s the deal → Google still matters and my course is still 100% relevant (p.s. all of my private 1:1 clients and WAVE mastermind members get free access to it👏), but it’s not the only player in town.

AI-driven search engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Grok are changing the visibility game.

The good news? You don’t need to stress, you just need to pivot. Slightly.

Here are 3 quick wins to start showing up in these AI searches:
1️⃣ Be everywhere. Yup, EVERYWHERE. AI pulls info from alllll the touchpoints you’ve got online. Instagram, YouTube, blogs, LinkedIn, YouTube, wherever you can create value, SHOW UP. It matters more now than ever.

2️⃣ Answer two tiers of questions. Think about how people search on AI engines 🧠. For example, someone goes to ChatGPT and their first question might be “What’s a marketing plan?” and then their second questions might be “Who can help me with this?” Your content needs to tackle both levels, so you’re the answer on that follow-up ask.

3️⃣ Deliver even MORE value. AI only knows the content you put out there. If you’re not sharing enough amazing, through-leadership-establishing content on the internet (or at all 💻), there’s nothing for it to pull.

Put out thoughtful, helpful content that positions you as the go-to expert. Your visibility will thank you.

When I first moved to Toronto, I didn’t know a soul. Well, I knew my 2 roommates - but aside from Greg and Alyssa I really felt like I was starting from scratch in a city of millions.

To find my community, I started teaching at gyms, signed up for wellness workshops, and even launched a bike club. Since then, community has become my non-negotiable because I feel the ripples of success every single day, in life and in business.

Today, I put AS MUCH or MORE energy into community building than ever before… and I’m 9 years into entreprenuership.

Community is the marketing strategy that has never gone out of style, and it never will!

Even in my small little town where I live today (we left Toronto in 2020)… I love to host BBQs, sit on boards of directors where I have a passion, and create events to bring people together.

Community isn’t just a feel-good, nice to have thing.

It’s the reason you’ll keep growing. Both in business and in life.

You simple can’t build a successful business in a silo of isolation.

This photo is from one of the many business ‘communities’ that I’ve paid to join.

In this case, I was 4 months pregnant and I jumped on an airplane to Park City, Utah (isn’t it gorgeous) to go hang with 9 other incredible entrepreneurs.

There was more unlocked in that 5 day trip than in 5 months of working in my home office.

Thank god for community / groups of people that you have instant ‘fellowship’ with :)

First, I just want to brag about this awesome event that happened on Friday in Paris, Ontario, Canada.

What started as an idea to host IRL meetups for female entrepreneurs in our area, has quickly turned into an incredible event that has grown steadily over the past 12 months.

Our first meetup had 10 people,

And months later we hosted our biggest event ever with 50 incredible women.

That type of energy in the room was rare, and it’s special.

Because you don't meet like minded, similar trajectory humans every single day!

Your community... Your circle... The people around you who GET IT.... that's EVERYTHING when you are building a business and pushing the boundaries on what 'normal' means, every single day.

One of my friends & past clients just sent me this photo from an event I went to in LA 5 YEARS ago, and wow…talk about memories flooding back.


🫠Imagine this—I learn about a really neat event that feels totally out of my league (most of the entrepreneurs were WAY ahead of me) just 7 days before it begins.

Oh, and it’s in Los Angeles, a 5 hour plane ride away from me in Toronto.

I didn’t know a soul, had no bed to sleep in, and barely knew what the multi-day event was about. All that I knew was that it would be a room filled with 150 entrepreneurs from across North America.

So, guess what I did?

Yup, booked a plane ticket, dropped $1260 (USD... ouch), and prayed I wasn’t making the most expensive mistake of my life. Lol.

I also said YES to staying in an AirBNB with 7 strangers after putting up a bit of a desperate post in a Facebook Group to see who could add me to their room roster.


Fast forward 8 months from the event in LA, that connection turned into a $70,000.00 contract.

YES. SEVENTY GRAND.

All because I got on a plane, pretended I wasn’t freaking out on the inside, and just SHOWED UP.

Wild, right?

And here's what I’ve learned through all this.

It’s not about having the perfect website (although, I do love me a snazzy website), and it’s definitely not about having your branding “all figured out” in order to land MORE dream clients.

Nope. It’s about getting IN THE ROOM. 🪄

IRL connections just hit different—it’s the spark you don’t get scrolling through Instagram or designing the perfect LinkedIn banner photo while wearing sweatpants.

This story from my LA adventure in 2020 and soooo many more (which I will save for a future email) are exactly why I co-host IRL gatherings.

Because connections like that $70K moment?

They don’t just happen—they’re MADE when you show up, step into visionary spaces, and actually talk to real humans. I know, revolutionary! (kidding)

Regardless of whether you can join our event in March or not,

I hope this is your mid-week nudge to get yourself into a room you’ve been eyeing, from afar.

Hey, hey, Visionaries!

Okay, so I'm back in action, back in the groove, but yikkkkes, yesterday hit me like a ton of bricks 🧱—rookie move not booking a buffer day between vacation and work!

ICYMI we escaped the snowstorms of Ontario to soak up 35°C sunshine in Costa Rica, and WOW… if sunshine could bring someone back to life, it did that for all of us. 🌊✨.

And we made it our very first official family trip—just me, Dave, and Freddie (who’s almost 14 months, OMG WHERE IS THE TIME GOING 😭).

Now, if you’ve heard alllll the things about traveling with kids, the drama, the “don’t do it,” here’s the deal—DO WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY.

Was it always easy? Nope. Was it worth it? Heck YES 🙌. We stayed with friends, were super active (mountain biking, daily hikes, paddleboarding✌️), and Freddie basically lived his best life covered in sand, playing with nature (zero toys for 8 days—which we didn’t even realize until the last day 😂).

The experience reminded me of something so important 👉 life is too short to wait until “next year” or “when life slows down” or “someday.”

Even though I came back home to a FULL calendar, it’s all good because I got to record podcasts with amazing Canadian Entrepreneurs like Julie Cole (founder of Mabel’s Labels and SPEAKER at our upcoming event on March 28th) and Nate Lessnick (Founder of Flow State Bike Co) to record podcast episodes. Those are coming soon to Season 15.

Don’t Bother Traveling with Kids, They Won’t Remember It

Ya, but… we will.

People love telling Dave and I this. Over and over. But here’s the truth—the memories aren’t just for the kids; they’re for us, too.

The lesson? 👉 Don’t base your adventures on whether or not your kids will remember them. Do it because you’ll remember their giggles, their awe + wonder, and their first moments experiencing things (like seeing an Iguana the side of their entire body).

4 People, 3 Seats, 1 Russ 🛫👀

Picture this—economy seats, four of us crammed into three seats. Me, my husband, Freddie (our 13-month-old), and… Russ.

Russ is nice, don’t get me wrong. But he talks. Like, a lot. For 5 hours straight, Russ told Dave and I every detail about his 3 marriages, his days living in Australia, and how his current wife hates flying. Guess how much Russ learned about us?

It’s not that I was interested in telling Russ about our life or needed to get a word in.

But, it really got me thinking about this archetype of a person. The talker. The non-curious. The one who keeps making the story about themselves.

The lesson? 👉 I don’t know. Perhaps draw your own conclusion haha. But … True conversations are a two-way street. Ask questions, be curious, make real connections.

Snacks & Water— Listen to the locals 🥤🍪

“I’m good without water.”

“I don’t usually snack on short Mountain Bike rides.”

Famous last words.

My friends told me to stock up on multiple water bottles and snacks before the mountain bike ride we did in Costa Rica. It is 30+ degrees here afterall.

Did I listen at first? Nope. But trust me—after 2 hours of melting under the sun I was glad they forced me to carry a CamelBak water pouch.

The lesson? 👉 Know when you don’t know. Don’t compare apples to oranges (riding in Cold Canada vs. riding in a heat wave).

Unwinding Takes Time 🏝️

The first couple of days, I kept asking myself, “What are we doing today?” I couldn’t just be.

It took a while to unwind, to stop planning every moment and just soak things in.

I needed time to forget about time. Ya know?

The best days here have been the ones where I forgot that clocks existed and have been truly present in the moment vs. worrying about what’s next.

Tariffs and TikTok 🌍😬

Unsettling changes are all around—everywhere we look, it feels like the world’s in flux. Tariffs, TikTok bans, shifts in the economy… chaos sometimes feels like the new normal.

The lesson? 👉 Focus on what you can control, even when everything else feels wild. Live your life based on an Internal Locus.

Predictability vs. Adventure ☕

Routine is comforting, sure. But when comfort leads to any degree of ‘living on autopilot’, that’s my cue that it is time to shake things up.

At home, life can be predictable—our cotton sheets, the same coffee and smoothie every morning (with the usual varietal of Banana that all of North America eats, even though there are over 1000 types of Bananas), same workout classes, bumping into the usual community members to talk shop.

The fun part of travelling?



No routine. Lots of new faces. A chance to live outside the ‘usual’

We showed up here wondering… What will the view be like? Where’s the coffee? What even IS breakfast here?!

I live for this kind of unpredictability, even though I thrive in predictability. Does that make sense?

The lesson? 👉 Discomfort is where adventure begins. Step out of your habits every once in a while to gain perspective. Being uncomfortable in the unknown is a good trait to build, everyday.

Okay, so it’s 1:14PM on a Monday as I write this, and even though I could've woken up stuck in that lame "ugh, Mondays suck, can we rewind to the weekend" vortex— that's not gonna fly today (or any day).

I absolutely REFUSE to expand that narrative!

Instead, I decided to flip the script, pivot, and make a PLAN for Day #1.

(Oh, and just a quick heads-up if you’re new here— I operate on the ‘3-days-in-1’ philosophy because squeezing extra out of life is what I love to do... and given that tomorrow is not guaranteed, I like to maximize. And yes, I am a Maximizer on Clifton Strengths Finder if you've done your Strengths Test. And yes, this is a run on sentence/paragraph).

Here’s how my weekdays normally work, in case you’re curious…

Day 1 = 7AM–12PM,

Day 2 = 12PM–3PM,

Day 3 = 3PM–8PM.

After that, you better believe I’m in sloth mode, crawling into bed, scrolling on Instagram (otherwise I'm off it during the day unless I post), and maybe watching a little YouTube about sourdough bread before I pass out.

Now, here’s exactly how I shook off the Monday blues in, like, 0.03 seconds (yes, that fast).

1. I Did Gratitude Practice with Freddie

I kicked off my day by getting LOUD about gratitude with my 1-year-old, Freddie.

Obviously, he can’t talk yet, but I’m pretty sure I can predict what the little dude is grateful for. We listed six things together; highlights included winter and the fact that we live in a place with a variety of seasons , and our healthy, happy rescue pup Abby, who’s been with us for 8 years, and that we have the BEST dad/husband in the world… Hi, Dave! (Maybe Dave reads these newsletters? Maybe not?? Guess we’ll find out haha.)

2. Nature Therapy 🏞️

Yes, it’s freezing.

It feels like -10 today. And guess what? We still bundled up and made it outdoors. Because nature is always therapeutic. We walked to the park, sat in the swing, and just stared at the sky. Being outside just hits my soul.

3. Random Street Chats 👷

We stopped to say hi to a guy doing construction on our street. I really enjoy talking to strangers (put a newly walking kid in a bright yellow snowsuit, and suddenly everyone’s your new best friend!).

People really want to remind you how fast it all goes. So true. 13 months has flown by.

4. Baby & Mama Fitness Class 🍼

Freddie and I hit up Baby & Mama fitness class to hang with some friends. This was more “me chasing Freddie so he doesn’t step on a newborn” than “actual fitness.” Still a great mood booster!

5. Treadmill Desk Time 🚶‍♀️💻

Right now, as I type this, I’m walking on my treadmill desk! Not because I need to exercise, but because when I’m moving, it’s impossible for me to feel stuck or in a funk. Motion equals momentum— is there science behind that? Endorphins = energy?

And just like that, Monday turned into pure magic. There’s nothing wildly fancy, groundbreaking, or outrageous about it—just the basics, but they WORK.

Now, I’m deep into Day 2, which is my work block, compressing what should be 8 hours of productivity into 2 because I need to.


And honestly?


If I can get what I need done in 2 hours, WHY would I drag it out longer?!

Shoutout to iPhone airplane mode, Ginkgo supplements for focus, and my go-to theta waves playlist on Spotify for continuously holding it down.

Anyway, I hope this inspires you to shake up your week if it feels low, lean into the tiny joys, and to realize that YOU are in control.

Time has been on my mind lately. It’s just this tiny word, but it has such a MASSIVE impact on how we live our lives.

A couple of weeks ago, I was “killing time” and it hit me—I’ve got this little acronym that always comes to my rescue when I feel short on time or like I'm just wasting it. 

✨ T.I.M.E. = This Is My Experience ✨

Whenever I say it, it’s like... oh yeah, I’m in control here. I get to decide how I interact with time. It’s actually wild when you stop to think about it.

It’s crazy how we perceive it so differently, right?!

And honestly, this little mantra helps me remember that I can bend time, break time, waste it, or—yes—it’s possible—I can even create time.

Because at the end of the day, This Is My Experience.

Okay, I’ll stop with my time musings for now, but seriously, next time you’re feeling rushed, overwhelmed, or just stuck, try saying this to yourself. And LMK if it works for you!

Can I share a quick success secret with you today?

It’s a secret that will make you $1000’s or even millions over the coming years.

This is advice that my first business coach told me many years ago, and it has really stuck with me and proved to be true.

It’s not revolutionary,

It’s not sexy,

It’s not to ‘start a Pinterest account, create a membership, build an email list, or launch a digital course’ like all the gurus are telling you.

Those things can come later. Right now, they’re not the priority.

What I’m about to tell you is simple, but it’s not necessarily easy—especially if you’re multi-passionate (hi, that's me!).

This advice has single-handedly shaped my success (and allowed me to create an amazing consulting business as a creator, coach and expert).

Here it is

Choose one area of interest, and go deep.

Become laser-focused on your ‘thing’.

Whether it’s digital marketing, gluten-free sourdough recipe creating, or becoming the best spin instructor on planet earth.

Read everything you can about it. Create content around it. Share it with friends and family. Host free workshops. Immerse yourself completely in this one thing—and commit to it long-term.

By long term, I mean years & years & years!

Play the long game.

For me, that “one thing” has always been marketing.

I’ve been talking about marketing for over a decade. I’ve hosted a marketing podcast for seven years with 350+ episodes.

I’ve sent more than 1,000 emails about marketing. I listen to podcasts about marketing in my spare time. I’ve spent $100,000 mentoring with the best marketers and attending their conferences.

This type of single-minded focus has positioned me as a top-ranked resource for marketing and business coaching. It's why I have a full roster of clients every month.

This kind of obsession is what builds credibility, recognition, and, ultimately, a profitable business.

What I see happening too often is people spreading themselves thin.

They jump from one idea to another, promoting different products, serving mixed audiences, and trying various strategies.

The result?

Nothing sticks.

If you want to succeed, don’t focus on chasing quick wins or hopping from idea to idea.

Success comes from dedicating yourself to one niche, one message, and one plan. Not jumping from idea to idea, strategy to strategy, or social media platform to social media platform.

Building a thriving business isn’t about shortcuts. It’s about becoming the go-to person for your niche.

The question is—what’s your niche? What are you known for?

It’s Sunday afternoon, and I’m putting the finishing touches on my slides for a workshop I’m delivering tomorrow. The audience? Resort owners! 🎉
