086 Leila Keshavjee is the Founder of Happy Pops & CBC Dragonβs Den Sensation!
Leila Keshavjee
Founder of Happy Pops, which first gained popularity after appearing on CBCβs Dragonβs Den.
It might be Winter here in Canada, but hearing the word Popsicle's can instantly bring a smile to anyoneβs face!
Memories of hot summer nights and vacation vibes come to mind when I think about enjoying a tasty, icy cold treat.
If the word Popsicle evokes happy memories for you too, than you are probably going to love this weeks interview with Happy Pops founder Leila Keshavjee
Are you as excited as I am to hear about the story behind Dragonβs Den sensation Leila Keshavjee who has reinvented the world of Popsicle's with an all natural ice pop made with real fruit and sweetened with a hint of organic cane sugar.
Happy Pops was launched back in 2016, after Leila learned about all of the hidden, nasty sugars lurking in traditional Popsicle's, Leila Keshavjee knew there had to be a better way.
An athlete herself, Leila wanted to "healthify" the Popsicle and create a version that could be a breakfast, post-workout treat, or a snack before bedβ¦. A snack you could feed to the whole family and feel GOOD about it!
Thatβs the birth story of Happy Pops!
Leila drew on her South Asian heritage and travels, as well as her familyβs experience in the food industry, to come up with a flavour line-up that canβt be found anywhere else
From Passion Fruit and Guava to Mango and Strawberry, or my personal 2 faves.. The Matcha or the Coffeeβ¦ Happy Pops is a clean-ingredient treat that appeals to Canadaβs diverse tastes.

The ice pops are handcrafted in small batches without artificial ingredients and are sold at specialty retail stores, farmers markets and festivals in Ontario and Quebec.
p.s. If Leilaβs story sounds familiar, itβs because she landed a $150,000 deal on CBC's Dragons Den with my personal fave dragon Arlene Dickinson. If you missed that episode, go checkout the first episode of Season 13. It was an epic episode.
