Today, I’m sitting down with someone I met on an impromptu trip to Los Angeles 1 year ago, and his name is Jason Brown.

Jason is the Visionary Entrepreneur behind a brand new tech startup for kids & parents called dripdrop, and he is also the founder of an investment company called Misfits Global, where the vision is to invest in 100’s of start-ups in the coming years.

In addition to learning more about Jason’s most recent project, dripdrop, we are also chatting about Jason’s previous chapters including his time working for one of the hottest tech startups, chasing elite status, and doing all the things you think you should do in that world… but ultimately realizing that it wasn’t fully fulfilling him He knew something was missing.

Fast forward to today and Jason is almost unrecognizable from who he was a decade ago. We talk about this sharp contrast inside of the show.

In this conversation, he shares openly about…

  • Why he says YES to things that scare the hell out of him

  • The role that journaling, meditation, psilocybin & breathwork have played in his entrepreneurial journey

  • Ways to identify your inner programming & also how to deprogram what doesn’t belong to you or serve you, anymore

  • & so much more

Jason offers a lot of interesting perspectives in this episode, and I can’t wait to hear your takeaways. You might even want to bookmark this one so that you can listen twice.

I’ll share 3 of my favourite takeaways on the other side of this conversation.

One last thing before we jump in, I learned in this episode that both dripdrop and the Visionary Life Brand started in similar situations-- while we were hiking in the mountains.

That might just be my next piece of wisdom for anyone who wants to start a business, but has no clue what it could be… Go for a hike.

Jason Brown, Welcome to the show.

I want to start this conversation by rewinding back to the moment I asked you to come on the podcast.

Your response was something along the lines of,

“It scares the hell out of me, Which means I need to do it…”

Is this your operating system in all areas of your life? Where did this thought process come from?

What else in your life has scared the hell out of you, that you pursued despite the fear?

Is there something that is scaring the hell out of you right now, January 2021, that you know you need to take action on?

Becoming an Entrepreneur

  • Did you always envision yourself starting your own business?

  • How many bad ideas did you have to shuffle through, before landing on dripdrop, the business you’ve spent the past year bringing to life

Self Love Journey

  • You’ve credited the creation of dripdrop with first finding self love - through meditation, breathwork & inner work alongside Psilocybin Mushrooms

    • Now that you’re able to reflect backwards, what would have happened or where would you be if you created dripdrop without an effort to love yourself

    • What are some of the most impactful self-love techniques that you’ve implemented

    • Is it possible to run a successful business if you don’t love yourself?

Assembling your Crew

  • Something that seems to come quite naturally to you is connection and “talent scouting”

    • What’s your motive for getting to know people on a deeper level?

    • Why do you choose to devote so much of your time to joining Masterminds, booking 1:1 Zoom Calls with people, Being Giving of your Time to fellow Entrepreneurs?

Keeping the Vision Alive

  • How do you balance “thinking what to do next in what you’re already doing” vs. “painting a picture for 5 or 10 years from now”

  • Talk to us about your process - is it structured or casual? Yearly? Monthly?

  • Where do you want to take this? Where do you want to go?

Jason’s Take

One night over a drink, you began grilling me to understand my bigger vision for the Visionary brand. You briefly mentioned that you’ve always thought about launching a coaching business, because it’s something you love to do & that you’re frankly quite good at.

  • What are some key traits of successful entrepreneurs that you've distilled

  • Who or what is holding most of us back?

  • Who is an inspiration to you?

  • Give us a few book, audiobook or podcast recommendations - things you’re listening to now, or in the past few months

  • What keeps you motivated?

  • For someone lacking that spark in their business right now, what advice would you give them

Now, let’s recap 3 visionary takeaways from this episode…

  1. Getting into your body is a strategy!

Whether that’s by doing mushrooms, breathwork, meditation, or long walks -- whatever you need to do to stop suppressing your emotions and feelings so that you can truly connect to what your mind and body are saying is going to be SO advantageous for your personal and professional growth.

Often overlooked by hustle culture, but something Jason deeply believes in.

  2. Second, Go hike a mountain.

In the mountainous terrain of Quebec is where he solidified the idea for dripdrop, likely because he was out in nature away from all distraction. Do you need more of that in your life? If so, be sure to schedule it in.

  3. Finally,

Become more conscious of your default programming & recognizing which ones are serving you, and which ones no longer are.

Over the course of our lives, I think we’re almost blind to the fact that we download other people’s programs into our minds and bodies, and then we run these programs like they’re our own!

Jason talks a lot about removing the programs that aren’t serving you fully, and then asking which ones you want to replace them with?

Asking Who do YOU want to be? What do you WANT to stand for? And then downloading new programs to become that.
